Legal worries and DadLove

Tuesday, August 31st, 2004

Today I went to work. There is much fear as we, the faculty, learned about legal liabilities in education. I am upset that having the students journal is so risky. Hans put it best: “So you can’t have the kids journal, and your calling is to raise them to be thoughtful and reflective. Bummer.”

The quote of the day: I love you and I’m proud of what you’re doing. - From Dad to me.

Work

Today I went into work. On Thursday and Friday, Sr. Rosemary our principal and I are hosting a two day orientation on our discipline system. There is much excitement in the air about the new school year. I have much to do.

Update

Monday, August 23rd, 2004

The news in my life is that I’ve taken a job as disciplinarian and religion teacher in an all black inner city school run by the Christian Brothers. I’ve also moved out of my Dad’s place into a bachelor pad with two high school buddies.

I just returned from a trip to NOLA and Atlanta. ‘Twas spectacular.

Time for some sports or GTA.

Return To St. Louis

Monday, August 23rd, 2004

I’m in St. Louis!!! Haven’t lived here in 6 years. Nice.
Headed out now to get some toasted raviolis. Priority one remains being with Dad, preparing for death.

Priority two is job and vocation/life calling. I’m very happy to be free of the novitiate rule. I get brief moments of worry that remind me of my need for prayer, which removes all fear.

I am one with perfect love.
Perfect love casts out all fear.

keep praying for me and the family and my future. We need it.
