4 hours sleep. Kit, Dad and I went to Pilot Knobb to see a reinactment of a battle in our War Between The States. I didn’t run into the De La Salle troop. That’s surprising since they should have stuck out in that crowd.
Speaking of sticking out: Dad chose to carry two flags with us whilst we walked around. People were fleeing in panic as we meandered through the crowd, completely unaware of the chaos we wrought. We poked out eyeballs, knocked out crutches from under old men, and tickled hundreds.
The battle was quite a show. I really got the sense that I was there. A teachable moment was lost as the horrors of war went underemphasized. “War…Bad” (said as Frankenstein from SNL) should be ingrained in the heads of the masses.
The loud cannons were SO MUCH FUN!!! They just made me giggle.
I dined with…a lady whom I shall call Schmetterling (sp). ‘Twas successful, that is all I shall say.
Beat Brad in tennis 7-5, 6-4 (he was up 1-4 in that last set). The lights on the court went out at 10:10pm EXACTLY as my watch alarm went off… doo doo doo.
It’s 11pm. I’m sleepy.
