Dad and Winkler

Monday, November 29th, 2004

Matt Winkler told me that he reads this journal, so he earned special mention. I am motivated to scribe onward.

Dad told me he’d check it out, too. Cool.

Friday: No recollection. maybe I’l remember later. I promise it wasn’t THAT fun.

Saturday: Erection Day… I hope the Virgin is proud of her new home under the rocks. I am supertruly grateful to all those who helped build the grotto at the Kuhlman Farm: Steve & Kit Eckelkamp, Christine Jeep, Rachel Jeep and Kyle, Peg Bolan, Greg Pitlick, Julie Gerwitz, Lorretta Stanley. If I forgot your name, email me.

My kids and their kids will pray there.

Saw Ben Caldwell and Matt Winkler. Drove Matt’s kickbooty car. Heard about Ben’s trip to Peru. Met Boedeker and Ana at Llwellyn’s.

Sunday: Got lots done running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. Is that a cliche yet? Decorated Christine’s apartment for Xmas. I hope she doesn’t read this ’cause its sposed to be a sprise. Took Magdalena (the miata) to the Dr. (mechanic). Matt & Libby returned my cell phone. Ice Skating Wednesday, everyone’s invited. Prayed and journaled for over an hour. I could use some more, too. Mass at 4:30 SLU. Quality Noonantime. His girlfriend, Tina, won’t stop soliciting me for sex… just checking to see if you read this, Johnny.

Dad's Bday - Thanksgiving

Friday, November 26th, 2004

I have so much for which to be thankful. The last ten days can be best characterized by “Life is hard, but Good.” I’m longing and fulfilled.

Tuesday: German class… tough.
Wednesday: Spiritual Correction. I felt accepted/loved. I have a lot on my plate right now and it’s natural to be stressed. Spilled deer blood in the Miata. Still smells horrible.
Thursday: teacher conferences.
Lesson: corporate morale is close to godliness.

Friday: Star Breakfast, missed Gina’s Crawfish pasta to hang with Christine’s friends. “If people just focused on that God loves them, we’d be better off.” Failed to leave to camp. Hung out with Noonan and Tina.
Lesson: be more prepared.

Saturday: Left to go camping at the farm. Mouse ran up my leg. Ran into a Zohnner (neighbor/relative). Saw Kit, Ted, and Steve Eckelcamp.
Lesson: Life is Good. I’m the only one proud of my $1 toilet.

Sunday: Hunted (journaled). Taught Christine to shoot a .22 pistol. Helped Steve pick up his doe. He was so happy. Went to 10pm Mass at SLU as instructed.
Lessons: I need to take Kurttime. I need to be more senstive to when I need Kurttime. Christine makes me a better person.

Monday: I cooked (more like attempted to cook) some deer meat. Saw Boo between classes!
Lessons: Mondays suck. Get more sleep.

Tueday: I took Boo to the airport. Mass at CBC: I felt warm integrity to the Faith. Skipped German class to move carpet w/ Noonan.
Lessons: Goodbyes suck. CBC is AWESOME (still not like SLUH). Noonantime is valuable!

Wednesday: half day at work. SNOW!! set up iPod. Napped.
Lessons: Hans’ place is pretty cool, but without phoneline. Boogone is bad, but Kurttime is good.

Thursday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!! scraped frost off the inside of a windshield for the first time. Took Jane to Sandy’s. Got some boots. Talked to Shane.
Lesson: Isn’t family wonderful? Improve time management, get priorities focused. Pray for Clarity -Anna Hall’s mom.
Follow-up: Thursday with the Faughns. Need to put rag/windex wipes in car.

Monday's what?

Tuesday, November 16th, 2004

Rough day. Work is stressful. Home was, too. Highlights include seeing dad doing much better, talking to Christine on the phone, seeing Grandma Sandy and getting a flu shot. Big day tomorrow.

Month and a half later

Monday, November 15th, 2004

My computer was stolen. There has been so much happening in the last month. The biggest deal is Christine. Dad had surgery this week. I went hunting this weekend. I had a dog for a few days. I got a new computer. Softball has started up. I’m taking German classes on Tuesdays with my dad. I’m reading a book with some firememes, Ruby Payne’s “A framework for Understanding Poverty.” I had spiritual correction with Fr. Knapp. I can’t find Fr. Knoth. I talked with Shane and Bobby. I’ve been to several bars. I couldn’t finish the movie “Pi.” Hans may have lost movie suggetive privilages. John lost my 20$ in vegas when black 4 hit. I wrote a most heartfelt letters to Lou (stepdad) for his birthday…and sent him the history of John Madden football videogames. My office wall at work fell twice. Helen came back. All the kids need therapy. I love ‘em. I volunteered at Karen House, felt oodly comfortible. It was like an AXO PKP mixer. Jarrod Kincaid brought up Matt Glover, who is MIA. Everyone else is married. April first is the next deadline for apps at SLU. The GRE free prep software is PC compatible only. :( I went riding with Hans and tried to kill him. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Christine and I may go camping this weekend. Brad got our old warsher and dryer. He got us a discount for Hans’ digital camera in return. I talked to Rodrigo, he asked for the Coach Gerwitz 5Step method to making a moral decision (CG5). That was cathartic. There is lots going on. My to do list is big.
